Import Notes from Last Year's Cards

If you used CCH iFirm Tracking last year and had taken notes relating to the tax situation or details concerning your clients, you will be able to retrieve the notes from last year's cards.

Importing notes will allow you to save time during tax season and appropriately keep track of your clients' files.

Before importing this data, we suggest that you roll forward all Taxprep client files, then create cards, because you will not be able to import the notes from last year's cards in CCH iFirm Tracking if the card in the client file (or the return) could not be created in the dashboard.

How to import last year's notes

Last year's notes can be imported at the time the cards are created or later.

To import the notes from last year's cards, in the CCH iFirm Tracking menu, click the Import Notes command.

The notes will not be imported in cards that already have notes.

To perform this operation, you must authorize the Taxprep program to transfer data to CCH iFirm Tracking by indicating your e-mail address and password in the box displayed in the Taxprep program.
