Copy, Roll Forward and Save Analytics
You can choose to copy data analytics test settings from an engagement when you copy or roll forward to a new engagement or when you save the engagement as a template.
Copy Engagement
On step 2 of the Copy wizard, select the checkbox Data Analytics Settings if you wish to copy the settings for journal entry tests. This option is available only if the source engagement and the new engagement both have the Analytics license selected.
Once the Trial Balance and General Ledger are imported into the new engagement, the copied analytics settings will be available under the Transaction Testing tab. The test settings that are copied are dependent on the type of parameters for each test:
-
Parameters independent of Chart of Accounts and General Ledger: Test selection (checked/unchecked) and parameters are always copied.
-
Parameters dependent on Chart of Accounts: If CoA is retained during the copy process, these tests and parameters are copied. If CoA is not retained, the test selections are set to their default values in the new engagement.
-
Parameters dependent on General Ledger: These test selections are set to their default values in the new engagement since the GL is never copied.
Roll Forward Engagement
During the roll forward process the test settings are automatically copied to the new engagement provided the Analytics license is selected. You will be able to access the copied settings after GL import.
Save as Template
When saving an analytics engagement as a template, you will see an option to Copy Data Analytics Settings. Upon checking this the test settings are copied to the template. If left unchecked the template is created with default test settings only.
As in copy, the save as template process also copies CoA based test settings only if the CoA itself is copied.
GL based test settings are not copied. These tests are set to their default settings.
When you create an engagement from a saved template, the test settings are copied to the new engagement.
