Editing an Engagement Properties

To edit the name, ID, or engagement type of an existing engagement, do the following:

  1. Locate the engagement on the Engagement List page.
  2. Click in the Actions column for the engagement and select Properties.
  3. Edit the engagement name, ID, or engagement type as needed.
  4. Enter the engagement description if needed, up to 32 characters. This field is optional.

  5. Enter the charge code if needed, up to 50 characters. This field is optional.

  6. Enter the due date if needed. This field is optional.

  7. Select the responsible staff if needed from the drop-down list. As you type, the staff list opens and filters based on the characters you type. This field is optional.

  8. Click Save.
  9. Click at the top right of the pane to close it.

For Pro engagements you will also see a Dates tab which allows you to edit the settings for the document completion period and the engagement retention period, do the following:

  1. Select the Dates tab.

  2. Enter the date or report if needed, this field is optional. If this date is used for either the document completion date calculation or the retention period end date calculation, once entered that date will be updated.

  3. Enter the report release date if needed, this field is optional. If this date is used for either the document completion date calculation or the retention period end date calculation, once entered that date will be updated.

Note: Date of report and report release date are optional fields, however, if either of these fields are selected for the document completion date or retention period end date calculation they must be entered before you will be able to lock the engagement.

  1. In the document completion date section, click Override to choose a document completion date independent of the engagement type settings. Click Reset to return the field to the automatically calculated completion date.

Note: The Override and Reset buttons will only be available to users if the corresponding permissions are assigned to them.

  • Beginning of assembly period. This field is filled automatically according to the settings of the engagement type selected on General tab. If you change the engagement type on the General tab, the beginning of assembly period date field will then reflect the new engagement type settings.

  • Length of assembly period (in days). This field is filled automatically according to the settings of the engagement type selected on the General tab. If you change the engagement type on this tab, the Length of assembly period (in days) field will then reflect the new engagement type settings.

  • Document completion date. This field is calculated automatically when the Date of report and Report release date fields are completed, according to the engagement type settings.

  1. In the retention period section, click Override to choose a retention period date independent of the engagement type settings. Click Reset to return the field to the automatically calculated retention period date.
