Managing Engagement Templates
The Manage Engagement Templates page displays a list of engagement templates created by your firm, listed in alphabetical order. From here you can rename a template, save a template as a new template, delete a template or you can click a template name to open that template. Firms can add up to 100 engagement templates.
Note: At this time only the Default Administrator can view the Settings drop-down on the Engagement List page to allow them to access Manage Templates.
Rename an Engagement Template
Follow the steps below to rename an engagement template:

On the Engagement List page, click the Settings drop-down to the left of the Create New Engagement button and then click Manage Templates.

Locate the engagement template on the Manage Engagement Templates page.

Click in the Actions column for the engagement template and select Rename.

Update the engagement template name. The template name and tax year of the template must be unique for the firm.

Click Save to save the engagement template name. Click Cancel to close the pane.
Save an Engagement Template as a New Template
Follow the steps below to save an existing engagement template as a new template:

On the Engagement List page, click the Settings drop-down to the left of the Create New Engagement button and then click Manage Templates.

Locate the engagement template on the Manage Engagement Templates page.

Click in the Actions column for the engagement template and select Save as new template.

Enter the engagement template name. The template name and tax year of the template must be unique for the firm.

Select Clear chart of accounts if you do not want to keep the accounts and assignments to groups, sub-groups, and tax properties in the new template.

Select Unlock all workpapers in the template if you would like to have all workpapers unlocked in the new template.

Click Save as template to save the new engagement template. Click Cancel to close the dialog.
The new engagement template is added to the list of templates on the Manage Engagement Templates page immediately but is not accessible until the process completes successfully. You can view progress information in the status message in the top right of the window, or by hovering your pointer over the information badge next to the new engagement template.
If the process fails, the status message in the top right will indicate that you should retry the job, and the newly created engagement template is removed from the Manage Engagement Template page.
Delete an Engagement Template
Follow the steps below to rename an engagement template:

On the Engagement List page, click the Settings drop-down to the left of the Create New Engagement button and then click Manage Templates.

Locate the engagement template on the Manage Engagement Templates page.

Click in the Actions column for the engagement template and select Delete.

A confirmation box asks you to confirm the deletion.

Click Yes to delete the engagement template. Click No to cancel the deletion.
Note: Once you click Yes to confirm the deletion of the engagement template, it will be permanently deleted.
Opening an Existing Engagement Template
To open an existing engagement template, do the following:

On the Engagement List page, click the Settings drop-down to the left of the Create New Engagement button and then click Manage Templates.

Locate the engagement template on the Manage Engagement Templates page.

Click the name of the engagement template you wish to open.
The engagement template will open on the Engagement View page. You can now edit the engagement template as needed similar to how you would work within an engagement.
You CANNOT do the following within an engagement template:

Add, edit or delete notes to workpapers or reports

Add sign-offs to workpapers or reports
-
Import account balances (you can import the account numbers and names)

Edit account balances
-
Add leadsheet comments
