Export to Taxprep File
Exporting to a Taxprep file consists of exporting a CCH iFirm Taxprep file, including its metadata, to a file that can be opened in the desktop version of the Taxprep program.
The following metadata is preserved when exporting a tax return:

Return’s notes
-
Attached notes (Cells' comments)
-
Predefined return statuses
-
Lock of the return
-
EFILE status
Return statuses
When exporting a CCH iFirm Taxprep return associated with a custom return status, the return status in Taxprep will then be set to In Progress.
However, if a return is associated with a predefined return status, the status will be imported into Taxprep as per the mapping table below, regardless of whether the return status associated in CCH iFirm Taxprep is inactive.
