Indicate the Transmitter
It is important that you indicate whether you are a corporation filing your own return or if you are a third party (e.g. an accounting firm) filing returns for corporations. Answer the prompt, "Who is the transmitter?" with "1" if you are a third party or "2" if you are a corporation.
- Third Party Transmitter
If you entered "1", the program will assume you are preparing returns as a third party (e.g. an accounting firm). The other cells will be automatically filled in from other areas. For example, the "Transmitter Name" and "Transmitter Telephone Number" will update from the RC59 – Business Consent Defaults section you filled out at the top of the Tax Preparer’s Profile.
- Corporations
If you entered "2", the program assumes you are a corporation and are filing your own return. In this case, you can ignore the cells below the prompt, "If the transmitter is a 3rd party, enter the transmitter details below."
