T4A/RL-1/RL-2 Data Entry Screen - Pension and Other Income
The T4A slip is used to report pension, retirement, annuity or other income. Enter the amounts in the appropriate boxes.
Where the recipient is a Québec resident, select the Complete RL-2 slip box if the amounts entered on the T4A slip must be entered on an RL-2 slip (e.g. pension or superannuation). Only the RL-2 boxes which correspond to T4A boxes are provided for on the T4A data entry screen. The other RL-2 boxes are accessible on the T4RSP/RL-2 or T4RIF/RL-2 slip data entry screen.
If the amounts entered on the T4A slip must be entered in box O of the RL-1 slip instead, enter the amount and the code identifying the type of income in the appropriate boxes of the Québec column.
At the bottom of Form T4A Summary, you can enter a note that will be posted to the T4A, RL-1 slip or the RL-2 slip.
Recipient's Identification
Social insurance number (box 12 of the slip)
Enter the social insurance number (SIN) as it appears on the recipient's card.
Recipient's Account Number (box 13 of the slip)
If the recipient of the amount you are reporting is a business (sole proprietor, partnership, or corporation), enter the recipient’s business number (BN).
Recipient's Name and Address
Enter the surname of the person to whom you made the payment, followed by the first name and initials. Then enter the person's full address, including the province and postal code.
Government Filers
Please note that government filers must use the T1204 electronic return to report payments made under a contract for services. Go to the CRA Web site for more details.
