Using the PDF cloud-based editing solution

It is possible for each user to use a cloud-based editing solution or their desktop PDF application and the Documents Sync Tool to edit their PDF documents stored in CCH iFirm Documents.

User Settings

  1. Click your username in the upper right corner.

  2. Click My Profile.

  3. Locate the option Open PDFs in Documents with.

  4. Select the desired option:

    1. Browser: Allows you to access the PDF cloud-based editing solution.

    2. Local application: Allows you to open PDF files using the Documents Sync Tool and access your desktop PDF application.

  5. Click Save.

Available features

  • Merge and split documents

  • Delete, add and rearrange pages

  • Annotate the document with highlights, bold, strikeouts, underline, text, and shapes

  • Comments with statuses

  • Insert images, attachments, callouts, stamps

    • There is a selection of predefined stamps, but it is possible for the user to create their own according to their needs.

  • Edit the existing text, images and text placement

  • Create and fill out forms

  • Search through the documents

  • Print directly from the editor

Editing a single PDF file

To edit a single PDF file, open the file or select it and click the Edit PDF button.

The PDF editor will open in a new tab, from which the user will have the ability to use any of the available features.

Note: It is necessary to save the file in the editing tool; see Saving an edited PDF file.

Editing multiple PDF files

It is possible to edit a maximum of 15 files (image files or PDF files).

  • Select the files to be edited and click the Edit PDF button.

  • The PDF editor will open in a new tab, from which the user will have the ability to use any of the available features.

Note: It is necessary to save the file in the editing tool; see Saving an edited PDF file.

Saving an edited PDF file

To ensure the file is saved and a new version is uploaded in CCH iFirm Documents, the user must click the Save icon.

The user will then be prompted to save the file in the location it was opened from or to save it as a new copy in a different location.
