Update dynamic fields

Jobs - View, Add and Edit Jobs

As you complete sections of work for a job, you need to update the relevant dynamic fields for that job. Some Yes/No dynamic fields may have e-mail alerts enabled so that an e-mail is sent to a team member when the field is updated.

Tip: Inform the relevant staff members so they know to expect e-mail alerts and how to respond to them. To learn how to activate e-mail notifications, refer to the Add Dynamic Fields for Jobs topic.

If you cannot edit a dynamic field, then contact your admin user and request access to edit the dynamic field. The admin user has to edit the dynamic field, or edit the user's security profile.

  1. Click Jobs & Billing > Jobs.
  2. Click a row to open the required Job Details page.
  3. Update the dynamic fields as required.
  4. Click Save.

When someone changes a dynamic field on the Job Details page, an arrow​icon displays beside the field to indicate that a change has occurred. You can expand the arrow icons to see who made the change and when. The colour of the icon indicates how old the change is:

  • Green icon - the change is less than a week old.
  • Blue icon - the change is between a week and a month old.
  • Orange icon - the change is between one and three months old.
  • Grey icon - the change is over three months old.
