Paper Copy of Form T661, Parts 1 and 9
This form has been created to allow claim preparers who have concerns with regards to the confidentiality of their information to file, separately from the tax return, a paper copy with only Parts 1 and 9 of Form T661, Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Expenditures Claim (Jump Code: 661), for federal tax purposes. You will find the CRA’s instructions on how to file this information at the beginning of the form, in the “Filing instructions” section.
The non-confidential information in Parts 1 and 9 of Form T661 are automatically copied to this form. If you answer “Yes” to the question Do you want to file Part 9 separately from the tax return?, and you provide the name and/or business number of at least one claims preparer, in Part 9 of Form T661, the claim preparers table will automatically become accessible in the form. Just enter the confidential information from lines 950, 955, 960 and 965 of Part 9 into this form. Note that diagnostics, whose number ends with the letter C, have been implemented with respect to these lines to remind you of the CRA’s requirements when the form is applicable.
This form will become applicable if you answer “Yes” to the question Do you want to file Part 9 separately from the tax return?, and at least one fee amount has been entered on line 965. The information on lines 950 and 960 that will not have been deleted will be rolled forward.
Note that this form is not included in any print format because of the confidential nature of the data it contains. However, you can include it in a customized print format, if required.
