Tracking Administrator
One of the first tasks to be performed as a CCH iFirm Tracking administrator is to create user accounts.
Each user needs a user account to log in to CCH iFirmand to allow Personal Taxprep to exchange data with CCH iFirm Tracking.
To add a CCH iFirm user account, consult the Add users topic.
Make the following changes to the settings of the CCH iFirm user (Settings > Users) for whom you wish to grant access to CCH iFirm Tracking:
In the Licenses tab, ensure that you link the Tracking license so that the user can access CCH iFirm Tracking.
In the Security tab:
-
Assign the Tracking – Access to Tracking security role so that the user can access CCH iFirm Tracking.
-
Assign the Tracking – Settings security role so that the user can access the CCH iFirm Tracking settings.
In the Tracking tab:
-
Enter the user's language of correspondence and indicate whether he or she is an administrator.
-
Define the settings for each dashboard in your firm.
- User Rights: select the user rights among the following choices:
- Access the dashboard and settings management: these rights allow the user to access the dashboard, link client files to CCH iFirm Tracking, link users and manage the various settings available in the Settings menu.
- Access the dashboard only: these rights allow the users to access the dashboard.
- No rights: when a user account is created, no access is granted by default to the user. The user does not have access to the firm's dashboard.
- Roles: select the role(s) assigned to the user.
For dashboards of years 2022 and before, the various roles are defined on the Roles Management page, available in Settings > Tracking.
For dashboards of years 2023 and onwards, the roles are defined in Settings > Users.
