Learn about the Security security roles

The following information outlines what each of the Security security roles allows a user to do in the system, in order of limited to full access, where applicable. These roles are suitable for an administration user.

1. Security - View, Add and Edit Users

With this role, users can access the User Manager page via Settings > Users to view, add, activate, and edit user accounts. They can also deactivate or delete accounts and reset passwords. However, users are restricted from editing all details in the user accounts, such as assigning security roles or adding standard hours. These tasks require additional security roles (numbers 2 and 3 below).

2. Security - View and Edit Budgets and Hours for User

This role can only be used in conjunction with the "Security - View, Add and Edit Users" security role. With this role, users can view information panels on the Edit Userpage, where they can add and edit the Chargeout Rates, Budgeted Billable Percentages and Standard Hours for each user.

3. Security - Manage User Security

This role controls all security access in CCH iFirm and can only be used in conjunction with the "Security - View, Add and Edit Users" security role. With this role, users can manage the profiles and security roles for all users of CCH iFirm, including themselves via the Security tab in each user's account.
