Set up automatic job creation

Instead of having to re-create jobs manually once they have been completed, or closed, you can have jobs re-created automatically. Depending on your requirements you can have jobs automatically re-created when the job is completed or closed. CCH iFirm uses events in the system to trigger the recreation (when a job is completed or closed). If you have set up custom firm groups, then the firm groups allocated to the first job are passed on to the next job.

Note: This method cannot be used for Annual Accounts jobs, and it does not allow you to specify a cycle, period ended or target end dates. To make use of specific dates and cycles, we recommend you use the Recurring Jobs feature.
  1. Click Settings > Jobs & Billing..
  2. Click Job Types.
  3. Click the row of the type of job you want to have automatically created, for example WAGES.
  4. Select an option from the Create another job drop-down list.
  5. Click Save.
Note: If a WAGES job has been set up using the Recurring Jobs feature, this method will not be activated. Recurring jobs override the automatic re-creation of jobs.
